You hear the dreaded words. It might be: “Time to take out the trash!” or “You need to do the dishes now!” or whatever your chores are. You drag your feet to the trashcan/sink. You grudgingly, complainingly do your job. That’s the way it is most of the time, isn’t it? Do you ever notice that when you’re in a good mood, the job goes faster? Too bad you aren’t always in a good mood then, huh?! But you could be! There’s no need to put on a long face when told to do your job. Imagine your dad going to work five days a week or more; imagine your mom making three meals a day and doing the chores that she could easily put on your back, but she doesn’t. It would make them unbelievably happy if you did your chores cheerily, or even did them without being told to. It’s also a bonus for you; doing things for others always lifts the spirits. So I challenge you to give it a shot!
