Answered Prayers

When we pray, it can feel like nobody is listening. It can be tough, especially when you have something difficult going on your life that you need God to deal with right now. Well, the thing is, something that goes hand in hand with prayer is patience. God knows what’s best for us; we just need to be patient and let Him do His thing.

Now, believe it or not, God answers you every single time you pray. It’s most likely not going to be an audible answer, but God will answer your prayer in some way. However, there are different answers God might give! Sometimes it’s “Yes!” or “Yes, but not yet.” The second one is tough to deal with, and sometimes we confuse it with God saying “No”. We want God to do things the way we want, but don’t you think the God of the universe, the Creator of all, would know better than you? It can be difficult, but sometimes we just need to take a step back and put that patience to work.

I mentioned that God might say “No”. That’s always a possibility. But, you see, God knows things we can’t even begin to comprehend. He knows that certain things aren’t good for us; we need to thank Him for not giving us everything our heart desires!

And the last one is “Maybe”. You could argue that if God knows what’s going to happen, He knows if the answer should be “yes” or “no”. But there could be a time when God doesn’t want us to know yet. If God hasn’t specifically told us “yes” or “no”, the only option left is “maybe”.

There’s an important thing about prayer that we shouldn’t overlook: it’s not a one-time thing. If God has answered “maybe”, continue praying! If He’s answered “yes”, give Him a prayer of thanksgiving!
