People place their confidence in many different things. Money, reputation, and other people to name a few. It’s odd that our confidence rests in these things, however; none of them are completely trustworthy. Money can disappear. Reputations can ruined. And even honest, trustworthy people might not be there in your time of need.
We, as Christians, are able to place our confidence in something greater.
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)
How can you not have complete trust and confidence in the God who can do all things? Not some things, some of the time. Everything, anytime, for you! But despite having an all-powerful God on our side, we tend to put our faith in other things.
My dad was teaching youth group last night, and he was talking about how rarely we step out in faith. Perhaps we’ll pray that God will provide for whatever we’re doing, but we often have a back-up plan. You know, just in case God doesn’t come through.
Okay…This is another one of those things where the answer is so obvious, but the action isn’t quite so easy. We want to put our faith in God, but we’re also afraid of failure.
When your heart is in line with God’s, you don’t have to be afraid. We can put our confidence in our great, mighty, and loving Father.
For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. (Proverbs 3:26)
