Acting In Faith

This week is Vacation Bible School–again! We’re hosting a VBS in a nearby town, and it’s been a pretty amazing experience so far. A few months ago, my dad felt called by God to host a VBS in this town. Everything was going pretty well for the first few weeks. We got the place for free, and we had twenty-five kids signed up.

On Monday, we had everything set up by 6:00, which was when it was supposed to start. By 6:30, only five kids had shown up, so we went ahead and got started. I’m sure we were all thinking, “What’s going on? Where are the other twenty kids?” Undoubtedly, we were all wondering what God was up to.

If it had turned out to be only five kids for the entire week, we still would have continued; maybe God wanted to reach out to those five kids this week! But that wasn’t the case. On Tuesday night, we had thirty-seven kids. Thirty-seven!

It’s just another example of walking in faith and trusting in God. We may have been confused and uncertain on Monday night, but God had a plan all along. Our theme for the week is “Acting in Faith; Directed by God”. How true is that! I can’t wait to see what He has planned for the rest of the week!

  1. It is such a blessing to have a daughter who loves and serves God. That was the only thing I asked of God when you were born, and He has given so much more! Thank you for serving this week, being in the skit, and doing so much more. And thank God that your back healed well enough for you to do all you have. I love you! Dad
