“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ (Matthew 25:21)
The King is coming. But we often forget that.
Jesus is returning–read Revelation! There are also a few parables that speak of it; the verse above is from one of them. What the master says in the verse above is what we all want to hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
Sometimes, though, we think those words are a lifetime away. That could be true, but remember that “our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die” (Psalm 103:15, NLT). Also, we may not have the time we think we do. No one but God knows when our days on earth will be over, or when Jesus will return.
In reality, those words might be coming much sooner than you think. The question is, are those words going to be said to you? To me? Have we lived a life worthy of those words?
I’m not saying we need to be perfect. Just pray for God’s help to live like Jesus did, loving God and serving others.
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. (Mark 10:45)
