But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)
People everywhere, every day, are searching for something to fill them. To give them peace. Happiness. Love.
Everyone has made that search, and though many people search for the same things, they look for them in different place.
Maybe someone who wants to be happy thinks they can find that happiness in riches. But if that’s true, why do they still feel empty once they’ve accumulated wealth?
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, (Matthew 6:19)
People looking for love make the obvious choice; they believe a relationship is what they need in order to get that love they’re looking for. And yet, just when they think they’ve found “the one” who can give them the love they’re yearning for, they end up left with nothing but heartbreak and pain.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (1 Corinthians 13:5-7)
Those in search of peace may end up looking to themselves. They search for that “inner peace”, but all they find within themselves is turmoil.
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all. (2 Thessalonians 3:16)
Everyone is searching, but only some find the Answer.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
Jesus is the Answer to everything we are searching for, and so much more. He is the only one who can fill us with true joy, peace, and love. All goodness comes from Him.
Jesus is the only Way. He is our Life. He is everything we’ll ever need.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)
