Where’s the “Undo” Button?

remote controlEver said something you instantly regretted?

Ever done something really embarrassing?

Ever not done something and wish you had?

Life is full of regrets. “Wish I did”s and “wish I hadn’t”s. Maybe you had only a moment to make a decision, and you didn’t have the time to make a wise one. Maybe you mulled over a decision for ages, and, in the long run, the choice you made turned out to be the wrong one.

Unfortunately, life doesn’t come with an “undo” button. At least, not in the way that we think of it. There’s no way to do-over a wrong choice; there’s no way to go back and not do something embarrassing.

While we may not be able to do these things, there is a way to get rid of all our mistakes–for good.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, (Acts 3:19)

Through His death, Jesus basically hit the “undo” button for our sins. He gave us a chance to start anew in Him. He made us clean in the eyes of the Father.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

We have been made new in Christ!
