True Salvation

What do we consider true salvation? Are we saved because we go to church once or twice a week? Because we’re nice to people? Because we respect and love our parents? These are all good things, but have you ever considered that there may be more to being saved than that?

To be saved, we have to do one important thing; we have to accept Jesus into our hearts. John 14:6 (NIV) says:

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Jesus is the only way to God. Without Him, there is no spending eternity with Him in heaven; there is only hell. It’s one or the other. It’s saved or unsaved. We need to take that important step. In the photo above there is a river. There are many rivers branching to an ocean, and sometimes many streams branching to those rivers. But there are not many ways to God. There is only one: Jesus. He was sent here to die for our sins so He could be that way, that path to God. No one else did or can do that for us.
