To be honest, “rainy days” is an enormous understatement. Our area is currently under two river flood warnings, a flash flood warning, a tornado watch, and a special weather statement that includes frequent lightning, hail, and wind gusts.
There’s also a very high pollen alert, just in case you’re more scared of sneezing than a tornado.
Despite all of this, God has kept us safe and (mostly) dry during this storm. You’d better believe I was praying hard last night when I woke up, wondering why the light was on, only to realize that the continuous light that filled my room was actually repeated flashes of lightning.
As scary as this all is for me (I’m terrified of lightning and tornadoes), it’s been a lot worse in other places. Of course, you know this if you’ve watched the news or even checked the weather. Places like Arkansas, northern Mississippi and Alabama, have all been hit hard. Whether you’re in the middle of these storms or halfway around the world, please take a moment to pray for everyone affected by this awful weather, particularly those who have lost family and friends (and pets).
As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.“Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.” (Luke 8:23-25)

Oh dear! Praying for all those affected. Remember you are in his hands. Great bible verse and song. Very fitting to remember his power and comfort at a time like this.

Thank you! We made it through fine (although a tornado did touch down in a town close by).

Thank you! Today is beautiful and sunny, but I think the East coast is still dealing with that storm. God bless!
