The Bible has some wonderful news for us. It’s a promise of God’s love; His faithfulness; His goodness. A promise that God didn’t just care for his people 2000 or even 5000 years ago. He loves us today, at this very moment.
Psalm 100:5 (HCSB) says this:
“For the Lord is good, and His love is eternal; His faithfulness endures through all generations.”
Isn’t that just amazing?! It’s saying three things:
1. “For the Lord is good…” The Lord is good! It’s not like, “Oh, ‘so-and-so’ is such a good person!” God is goodness itself!
2. “…and His love is eternal;” God’s love will last forever, for all eternity. We can’t really grasp just how long that is, but we do understand one thing: It’s amazing!
3. And last, but not least: “His faithfulness endures through all generations.” God’s faithfulness is never worn out. Even if there’s a particularly troublesome generation, God’s faithfulness, love, and goodness endures!
God has loved us unconditionally. His faithfulness and goodness abounds. Our God is amazing!
