Hopes and Dreams…

Dreams…I’m not talking about the kind you have when you’re asleep and then don’t remember 90% of it when you wake up. No, I’m talking about something different. Do you remember when you were a kid and people would ask you, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” And your answer would be something like, “An astronaut/a cowboy/etc.” Your hopes and dreams have probably changed by now (or not), but you most likely still have some goal for the future.

Sometimes, your hopes and dreams can feel like clouds (I know this may seem weird but stick with me!). You stare at them, so beautiful and high in the sky (I doubt you’ve seen clouds like the ones in the picture before, but you’ll get my point). You have the urge to touch them, to hold the fluffy-looking clouds tight. Let’s say, after a lot of work, you manage to get high enough to touch it. But the cloud passes right through your hands; it’s not the fluffy, cotton ball feeling you expected. And just like that, your hope is vanquished and you fall back into reality.

It feels that way a lot, doesn’t it? Whether big or small, sometimes your dream goes plummeting to the ground and is broken into hundreds of tiny little pieces–too many for you to possibly hope to piece together. It hurts, doesn’t it? We hoped, hoped that our dream could become reality, but sometimes it doesn’t, and that’s the tough truth. But allow me to let you in on a little secret…

God is supporting you! Can you believe it? When you have a hope, God is there to encourage you and help you make your dream a reality. When your dreams crash, God is there to help you pick up the pieces and help you move on. And always, even if you can’t see it then, no matter what happens, it’s for the better. So put your faith in God, and let Him make your dreams soar!
